TLL chapter kicks off holiday season early
The brothers of Tau Lambda Lambda chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity kicked off the giving season early in November by donating more than 30 bags of toiletries to support the Robert J. Fuller Transitional House in Waldorf.
The initiative, attended by 15 chapter members, was a part of the chapter’s Achievement Week, a week of programs with the purpose of promoting the study of African-American life and history.
The chapter has supported and collaborated with the Fuller House numerous times in the past for various initiatives, including supply collections, clothing and suit drives, annual fish fries and motivational talks.
The Robert J. Fuller Transitional House provides transitional housing for men who are homeless or were previously homeless. Fuller House is intended to help men break the cycle of dependency through programs designed to foster growth toward self-sufficiency.
In keeping with the principles of Omega Psi Phi — manhood, scholarship, perseverance and uplift — the chapter used the opportunity to highlight manhood and uplift.
“TLL chapter wishes to uplift these men as they continue their journey to independent living and to also humbly give back
because in preserving manhood, sometimes it’s hard for men to ask for help,” Darrell Nichols, social action committee co-chairman, said.
